NFL Minimum age requirement?

I know it says 3 years out of High School. Does this mean if I leave at 16 I can play at 19. Or do you have to be 21???

Yeah.. the rule is based on 3 years after high school, not age.

But in more detail it's 3 years after you graduate high school, or if you leave school early, 3 years after your class graduated. So if a guy drops out of high school, he'd have to wait until 3 years after he would have graduated.

So, depending on their birthdays, some guys could be 20 and be eligible by that rule.

But there is a hole in the rule. Some brainiac kids graduate high school as early as 12 years old. Many do at 14. At a college near here, a 14 year old was a senior and already taking some masters degree classes.

So by the existing NFL rule, those kids would be age eligible at 17 or younger. I doubt they're moms would let them play.

So dropping out at 16 gives you 1 year of high school experience and 0 years of college experience. And you think that makes you qualified to play in the NFL? LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

Fairly certain you must present a diploma or GED.

Aaron Hernandez, tight end of the Patriots, was 20 up until Week #9 I believe this year. I don't think there's a minimum age but you have to have some High School experience.

If you drop out of high school, you have zero chance of any visibility. Finish school and play in college or you will never get noticed by NFL scouts.
