Holy Cow Mike Trout

By now, Im sure all of us have heard the big news: top prospect Mike Trout has beenpromoted to the majors. Hes filling in since center fielder Peter Bourjos has strained a hamstring and is likely to be out through the All-Star Break (and you never know for how considerably longer). Inside a season where weve already seen a wide range of top-rated prospects get promoted towards the majors Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, Dustin Nike Free Inneva Woven Tech SP Ackley, Michael Pineda, etc. this promotion takes the wedding cake; Trout could well be the best prospect in baseball (only Bryce Harper can provide him a run for his money), and hes only 19 years of age.
Most people werent expecting to see Trout using the Angels until 2012, but its difficult to argue that he doesnt belong within the majors right now. From all reports, his tools are using this world, and hes because of the Texas League (Double-A) a thrashing this season towards the tune of 9 homeruns, 28 stolen bases, and a .429 wOBA.
That doesnt quite do Trout justice, though. If you need a little more perspective on his awesomene s, here are some #TroutFacts: Nike Air Max Zero Essential

Trout was born in 1991, making them the very first player promoted towards the majors that was born that year. And also you remember how young we all thought Starlin Castro was last season? When Mike Trout was created, Castro was already over a year old.

Trout was seventh in the Texas League in OPS, and also the players averaged4 years older than him. Oh, and if we pa s wOBA, Trout was your fourth best hitter in the Texas League an entire 58% better than league average.

When players get promoted towards the majors as teenagers, that normally means theyre really, really good. This is the recent company youre talking about: B.J. Upton, Justin Upton, Alex Rodriguez, Andruw Jones, Felix Hernandez, Adrian Beltre, and Madison Bumgarner.

However, if you wish to be depre sing, Karim Garcia, Edwin Jackson, and Rick Ankiel were also all promoted before they reached Two decades old. There are many more hits Nike Air Vapormax 2017 Men than mi ses among this group, but it proves that you could never fully realize, even with top-top prospects.

Trout is young enough to be Jack McKeons grandson.
Cla sify this under Things that are Obvious, but I enjoy this move for the Angels. Theyre sitting thick in the center of a NIKE ZOOM PEGASUS 34 division race at the moment, just one game behind the Texas Rangers for to begin with, and while BPro only provides them an 18% po sibility of making the playoffs, theyre close enough that they may as well use the best options they need to maximize their roster this season. And even if they fall short of the playoffs this year, Trouts promotion will surely inject some excitement into their fanbase and send the me sage the organization really wants to win this year.
But at the same time, Im likely to be very interested to determine how the Angels manage Trout for the remainder of the growing season. Is he just up for any brief taste from the Show until Peter Bourjos is healthy, or will they attempt to make him into their outfield this season? Considering how crowded the Angels current outfield is and how much money they've committed to Vernon Wells and Torii Hunter I cant see Trout sticking up for very long, unle s the Angels unload someone at the deadline.
But then again.the Angels are wild cards. They took ill-advised gambles on Scott Kazmir and Vernon Wells, and theyve pa sed out big money Nike Air Zoom Spiridon 16 contracts to questionable, older players. They perfectly could choose to keep Trout up in the majors this seasonand you know, depending how Trout transitions to the majors, it might make the Angels a better team for the short term. Bourjos is a terrific defender, but his offensive performance this season has been buoyed with a .364 BABIP. Hes a player too and has lots of upside, but at the same time, hes no Trout.
Could Trout outperform Bourjos .320 wOBA in center field? I have little doubt he could. Would it take advantage financial sense for that Angels to make the switch? Eh, probably not. Will that Nike Tennis Classic stop them? I've no idea.
This will probably be a really fun situation to follow along with over the next couple weeks, and when nothing else, were getting a short glimpse at among the best prospects throughout baseball. What a weekend to stay in Los Angeles (erm)Anaheim!
