Do you think Peyton would have been the same QB if he was playing for

teams in the bottom of the league? I just wonder if he could take teams like Cleveland, Oakland Tampa to division title this year... I think when we evaluate a QB we are also evaluating his receivers.

in due time.the colts were just as bad as those teams you mentioned when manning arrived.but dont be fooled, they built the colts around manning....good backs,wr's and a offensive line.that takes time.manning is great....but he cant win a game by his self.

hmmm.... NO.

Maybe he could have provided Houston with a few more wins, but would not have brought up the entire program to become contenders.

I think the Colts would still be contenders if Peyton goes down for some reason..

He is certainly a great QB, but a great QB can only do so much..

I believe the Colts are a finely tuned machine. They know what kind of athletes trhey need to run this offense that dominates football at this time. When Peyton Manning is close to the end, they will find a QB with similar qualities to be in this offense.

Even Bart Starr, Otto Graham, Joe Montana and Dan Marino in their primes would struggle with horrendous offensive lines and zombie-like receivers. Don't forget Atlanta, Jacksonville and Green Bay (yes, I'm nodding towards Favre as a difference maker) on your list of struggling offenses like that.
