Better team: 2008 Detroit Lions or 2011 Indianapolis Colts?

minus Peyton of course.
@ K-Dawg: How? They went 0-16.
@ K-Dawg at least they WON TWO GAMES. The Lions DIDN'T WIN ONE. It doesn't matter how they played they still didn't play worse than the Lions. The Rams at least beat the Cowboys big and snuck by the Redskins. The Lions couldn't do that to anybody.

I would say Colts. They haven't lost incredibly bad this year (although they did loose to the Browns). But in my opinion, the Lions (despite this year) haven't done well at all since they lost Barry Sanders (who apparently fell off of the face of the earth as he doesn't even show up on interviews). Still 4 games left for a win this season. I think (hope really since I am a Bengals fan) they will get their first win Sunday. (Uh, its against the Ravens,LOL fingers crossed)

The 2008 Lions had talent and lost some games they should have won, they could't finish games. I have watched a few of the colts games this year and they look awful. (this coming from a neutral fan, im a ravens fan) I don't see a game left on their schedule that they can win.

2011 Colts. They gave a hard time to the Steelers and Patriots.

Every team TRIES to win games, actually if a team was found to be losing on purpose they would get in big trouble with the league commisioner.

The Colts season is not over and they have come really close against top teams like Pittsburgh and New England. Also they have more talented players with Pat Angerer, Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney better than any 2008 Lions defensive player that consisted on undersized guys intended to play on a Tampa 2 scheme.

All the 2008 Lions had was Calvin Johnson, better than any Colts player nowadays for sure, but opposing defenses were always focused on him.

Peyton's value to the Colts franchise is so obvious. Just wish the colts would play with a little emotion. I will say the colts are worse than the lions only because they quit as soon as Peyton went down. If they play with the same emotion this week against the ravens that they showed late last game then maybe my opinion will change!

At least the Lions TRIED to win their games.

Once the Colts lost Manning for the year, they just gave up and were not even competitive in their games.

If colts go 0-16 the Lions are obviously better. At least the lions came close in some of those games. The colts haven't come close to winning once.

The Lions came oh so close on many of the games they lost in 2008. I agree with K-Dawg, they were not the worst team that year even though they had the worst record. The Colts this year are just plain pathetic.

Lions. Despite their record, they weren't even the worst team in the league that year.

The Rams were worse. Anyone who watched their games could tell that.

The 2008 Lions had a decent offense but an absolutely terrible defense. It was pathetic.
The 2011 Colts without Mannig have nothing.
