In the last 10 years, they didn't make good personnel decisions overall. When they DID have promising players, they didn't really stick with them long enough to develop them.

Joey Harrington and Mike McMahon, both are QBs, are prime examples. Harrington was "massacred" by the local media. The coach should have deflected a lot of the criticism, but stood by and did nothing. Charlie Batch was another QB that the Lions gave up on when he got hurt.

3 years in a row, the Lions picked a good WR only to see each one get hurt during their respective rookie seasons. So, bad luck was also a factor.

Their defense was pretty sound during that time, but always seemed "to be missing a piece" that would have made them great.

I think Matt Millen was blamed too much, but he was the GM. There are in-season moves that could have been made, but never happened. That falls on Millen's shoulders. The shocker, to me, was that Steve Mariucci could not turn that team into a winner. I was expecting a move to bring in a bona-fide QB.

the nightmare is an idiot.

the lions arent in the afc south, they're in the nfc north. (weird symmetry there)

but the Lions suck bc of the horrible decisions in the front office that keep setting the team back more and more.

so when the Lions get someone good, his talent is wasted in their rebuilding years.

im just glad my bears play them twice a year.

Matt Millen and William Clay Ford....I pray every night the Fords will sell the lions.I don't think Ford gives two shits about football.

cause they kept picking WR's as there first pick for how many years out of the last 6 or 7? Bad GM decisions. Matt Millen ruined that team and I was a fan of his when he was playing.

because every time they get a cant-miss player (barry sanders, calvin johnson) they screw up with bad QB play and terrible defense.

easy question...when you play the titans, colts and texans six times a year....two explosive offenses and one stifling defense. by the time they finish scheming against those teams they have nothing prepared against the rest of the league.
