Do the Cincinnati Bengals have a chance for a winning record this year?

I've been a fan of the Bengals for many years and think they may have a chance for a winning record this year with all the young talent they have. The only thing that worries me is Carson Palmer whether he'll leave or not.

I was born and raised in Cincinnati (I live in AZ now) and I have been a die hard Bengals fan since the day the club started in 1968 (I was 10 years old).

However, since Mike Brown inherited the team in 1991, fans have had little but heartache and suffering to endure. Yet, Mike Brown (who has grown fabulously rich off the Bengals over the last 20 years) will remind you that the Bengals won the AFC North in both 2005 and 2009.

Both facts are true. The Bengals did win the division (barely). But what Mike Brown and the other clowns in the front office won't tell you is that the Bengals were immediately destroying in the only two playoff games they played in since 1991, went 4-12 last year, and have a .350 winning % under owner/GM Mike Brown over the last 20 years.

Moreover, the Bengals just lost their franchise QB (Carson Palmer), will be starting a rookie QB this year, have a new offensive coordinator who, because of the lockout, has never met his players, and that they have a head coach who is just not that good

Also, as if that wasn't bad enough, the Bengals undoubtedly have the cheapest and most incompetent owner/GM in the league - and probably in all professional sports - one Mike Brown.

Lastly the Bengals have this suffocating loser culture that goes right to their core. They are not called the Bungles for nothing - they usually live completely up to the name. In short, Mike Brown has chosen to put a completely inferior product on the field for the last 20 years and there is no reason to think that this year will be any different.

I think the team will be lucky to go 2-14 this year. Things are that chaotic and that bad.

I think the only chance the Bengals will have is IF Palmer leaves. He has become a millstone.

They have a chance every year. It's just that it isn't a good chance. The organization is just about as inept as it gets in pro sports.

For example, the Bengals did this: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Who-Dey-Bengals-send-e-mail-to-season-ticket-ho?urn=nfl-wp3697
